The heat of an arc welder is about 10,000 degrees F., which is about the same as the surface of the sun. In fact, that is where the energy for the welder came from. The gasoline, coal, oil or whatever is burned to get the electricity for the arc was formed through the decomposition of dinosaurs and plants that originally grew in the sunlight.
